Will Wikle Gives Go Go Boy Tips

Will Wikle is a registered nurse  and a go go god.

He is  best known for his appearance in the fifth American season of BIG BROTHER.  Wikle parlayed his Big Brother notoriety into a gig as co-host of the Logo network travel-themed program, Round Trip Ticket.

Wikle (flexing) with go-go dancer friends Will Wikle, is a frequent panelist on the Here! TV series Threesome,
achieved a longtime dream of becoming a celebrated go-go boy in New
York City and offers tips to other aspirants, in an article he wrote for
Paper magazine.

The 32-year-old former Big Brother
contestant recalls that he’s wanted to be a dancer since popping his
booty as a 7-year-old in front of his baby-sitter while listening to an
El DeBarge song, but his dreams were dashed by his conservative
parents.

Wikle writes about the past year, which he spent balancing his
new hobby with his day job as a registered nurse. He reveals that the
view from from his go-go perch allowed him to witness drag queens
perfecting “their tuck game,” as well as drunken one-night stands
spring to life on the dance floor.

Wikle also offers the following essential tips to become a successful go-go boy:

1. Nike high-top sneakers:
The bigger and chunkier, the better your legs will look sprouting out the top.

2. Timoteo jockstrap:
Basic underwear might get you enough tips for an Old Navy duffel, but showing your ass guarantees a Louis Vuitton travel bag.

3. Johnson & Johnson baby oil gel:
This will make all the right body parts shine, even in the pitch-black dark.

4. New York Yankees baseball cap:
A fitted cap is the go-go’s high fashion sweatband.

5. The official go-go buzz cut:
Go see Humberto at VL Studio on Christopher Street for the best $12 fade you’ll ever get in your life.

Michael Kors & Lance Le Pere Marry in South Hamptons

Mazel tov!

Michael Kors and his longtime partner Lance Le Pere have finally made it official, reports Women’s Wear Daily. The couple were married in a private ceremony on Tuesday in Southampton with the town’s mayor Mark Epley officiating.

It has been a long time coming for Kors and Le Pere, who have known each other since 1990 when Le Pere joined the designer’s company.

They fell in love with Paris, Le Pere told New York in an interview from last August: “We share a certain level of taste… an American point of view, and I think we like to play with Americana. Over the years and the day-to-day process of dreaming together, things just naturally fell into place.”

Kors and Le Pere had given hints that a marriage ceremony was impending, as the two were spotted on August 3 at New York’s City Hall applying for a marriage license. Kors said in a statement, “Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together. We have no plans for a major party, but we will be getting married privately.”

Congratulations guys!!

Ari Gold Music Artist & Gay Activist- Statement on the Passing of Marriage Equality

As a fourth generation New Yorker I am so proud to see Marriage Equality happen in my lifetime in the place where gay liberation was born.

As someone who grew up as an orthodox Jew its  also great to see other people from religious communities understand that this is not a religious issue but an issue of civil rights.

New York is where gay liberation in this country began so it only makes sense for New York to be one of the first states to make marriage equality a reality.   And for this to pass during gay pride—it is truly a day to feel proud of being a New Yorker and American on the right side of history.”

Ari Gold/Singer, Writer, Performer and Gay Activist

Highly accomplished and openly gay pop artist Sir Ari Gold is a buzz worthy, subculture celebrity in his own right, quickly winning over critics far beyond the reach of the LGBT community.

Shortly after the release of his captivating and controversial “Make My Body Rock” single, Ari releases the second single off his fourth studio album Between the Spirit & the Flesh.  “Sparkle” emerged with instant interest-catching soul and flavor.  The track features Sarah Dash of Labelle (Patti Labelle and Nona Hendrix) to add a powerhouse female vocal that plays well with Ari’s range and strength.

This self-empowerment anthem is a rallying cry against bullies, but most importantly one’s own view of self-worth.  The music video is directed by acclaimed visual artist and HIV/AIDS activist Duane Cramer.  Making cameo appearances in the “Sparkle” music video are underground NYC superstars, LadyFag, Stephan Keating, Mila Jam, Laverne Cox (from VH-1’s Transform Me) and even Sir Ari’s mother.

As the mainstream catches up to this pioneering recording and performing artist’s future-forward genius, “Sparkle” continues Sir Ari’s unwavering commitment to LGBT rights and equality.

“There are some out gay artists who want to sort of push aside their sexuality,” he continues, “and that makes them more palatable to straight people. You’ve got to deal with the fact that I do actually like to have sex with men. I’m not just some funny, campy entertainer for straight people to laugh at.”   (Read more of this interview from 2004.)

The NYU and Yale-educated Gold has been doing the national pride circuit  — he is promoting his new album but also  celebrating  his connection with his gay fans.

Joe Oppedisano and His Masculine Male Images in Photography

His men are classic strong  figures,
masculine and confident.

They force the viewer to sit up, take notice of their command and sexual allure that has no shame or remorse.

You know what photographer I am talking about, right?  New York’s Joe Oppedisano.

The details of his images are sometimes immediately noticeable, sometimes, you must look again and again to see the tiniest piece of information that was missed in the first several glances, but they are the details that pull the photograph together, and bring the world of Joe Oppedisano’s photography 360 degrees. These are the defining characteristics that have earned him the comparisons to Caravaggio, Tom of Finland, and more recently named him the most obvious heir to Robert Mapplethorpe, as well as his body of work to date, the face of his generation.

Joe  first studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After a short stint as stripper ! he worked as a fashion editor for W, Vanity Fair, L’Uomo Vogue and others. Only in America, RIGHT?!

At the age of 30 he decided to never again dress up like a model and taught himself photography.
He lives and works in New York City.

Attacked in Beaten in New York City For Being Gay

This is NYC 2011.

You would think, this wouldn’t still happen. But we must remember, hate is still everywhere. Sure we have gay bars and gay pride and one or two rights, but we are still hated by many. Damian Furtch is a reminder, hate still exists. Even in New York City.

STEPH WATTS reports, 26 year old Damian Furtch was on his way home from work at a restaurant late Sat night (Sunday morning), when he stopped off at a McDonalds in NYC’s West Village ( a predominantly gay area) to get some food. It was approx. 4:30 am.

While inside the restaurant Damian noticed 2 men staring at him – giving him “looks” – we have all been there, we know what this feels like. It was late, Damian was tired, he felt uncomfortable and he didn’t want any trouble so he left.

He was across the street, walking away while on the phone to a friend when the 2 men from McDonalds approached him and asked him “if he had a problem” before he knew it he was punched in the face by one man, then instantly felt another punch by the second perp, and then he heard it – “You Fucking Faggot” , the words as hurtful as the punches.

Damian managed to get away – but not before suffering a severe beating to his face – and head to the nearest hospital where the police were called. He filed a police report and the cops appropriately asked him if they used any slurs. Damian said yes “they called me a faggot.” Now these 2 thugs are wanted in connection to a HATE crime. Damian got 4 stitches and they have to break and re-set his nose.

Take a stand for Damian against the epidemic of hate in this country. It doesn’t stop here….This is where it starts.

We commend Damian on his bravery for coming forward, for not being ashamed as to what happened. We are  committed to seeking justice for Damian. Please stand with me on this issue and add Damian as a friend on facebook – let him know his is not alone in this fight!

Gay Retreats to be Held in Pennsylvania

3 upcoming Gay/Bi-sexual retreats
 in the Pennsylvania area.

Set down your burdens, satisfy your thirst, come home to the garden of paradise, and lose yourself in lovemaking with God. This is the true erotic message Jesus, or Yeshua, gave his friends two thousand years ago, and it is the true journey of Lent in the Christian mystical tradition. In this four-day experiential workshop, you can begin Lent by experiencing the Christian mysteries as never before, harnessing their sensuous power to radically transform your life.

This is a workshop for spiritual and erotic adventurers: gay and bi men who are willing to question their beliefs, feel their wounds, and explore their own erotic edges – a workshop for men who are willing to risk joy.

The Erotic Body of Christ – 2011
Kirkridge Retreat Center – Delaware Water Gap, PA
March 17, 2011 to March 20, 2011
This Workshop is for Gay and Bi Men, Singles and Couples Welcome

As gay men, in some ways we have an instinctive ability to bridge the masculine and the feminine. Still, we often struggle with our power. Collectively, we have fought for acceptance and equality in the social arena. It is yet another step to stand in our personal power without fear or excuses, compromises or justifications.

By means of exploring the masculine and the feminine principles in our bodies, movement, breath, voice and contact, we will engage our power as a visceral, pulsating, emotional experience. Once comfortable with it — or even better, once deriving pleasure from it — we will express our power in various forms of play.

Don’t we all want to feel powerful? Enjoy pleasure?  Be playful?  Join Kevin Kortan, Kai Ehrhardt and a community of fellow explorers, where you will have the chance to explore how the dynamics of Power, Pleasure, and Play shape and influence your body-mind-spirit, career, and relationships. Under the experienced and attentive guidance of Kai & Kevin, a safe, supportive environment will be created to for you to explore, and uncover, your strengths, challenge your unproductive habits, and help you open to new ways of being.

Power, Pleasure and Play

Do you want to better express yourself through touch?
Are you wanting deeper and more meaningful relationships?
Then this is the workshop for you!

With Eros – the God of Love – as our inspiration for this weekend, you’ll find yourself in the company of like-minded men who are sincere seekers.  Together we’ll earnestly explore the questions, ‘What is intimacy?’ and “Can I be intimate with another if I am not also intimate with myself?’  With the support of community you’ll come to know how the accepting presence of other men can give you the courage and desire to go even deeper into knowing yourself and others.
