Googles Guide to Lesbian & Gay New York Historical Landmarks

DID YOU KNOW –
Google has this cool gay  map!
All the information in this map is courtesy of the Organization of
Lesbian + Gay Architects and Designers (OLGAD) and was originally
developed by its Preservation + History Committee. A note regarding
format: where evidence indicates an individual’s being lesbian or gay,
the name is in boldface (it is necessary to take into account cultural
and historical context—for instance, a number of these people were
married, even though research points to their involvement in same-sex
relationships.)
Finally, please remember that many of the sites
highlighted here are privately owned and are not open to the
public—please respect people’s privacy. Project Coordinators: James P.
Colgate and Jane Greenwood. Research and Text: Joan Berkowitz, Don
Dinkel, Jr., Andrew Dolkart, Gale Harris, Mary Jablonski, Ken Lustbader,
Tom Reynolds, and R. Jay Shockley. GVSHP is grateful to OLGAD for
allowing the use of their detailed and thorough research.
