“It is Mariano’s interpretation of the male body that sets him apart. In capturing its virility and masculinity, his approach is both fresh and new, while also containing echoes of the work of those artists that we love from the past…” DOLCE & GABBANA UOMINI, photographed by acclaimed fashion photographer Mariano Vivanco. The book pays homage to the male form, and the contemporary images are inspired by Greek and Roman masculine archetypes: the hero, soldier and sportsman. These photographs showcase the ‘modern’ Adonis as conceived by Dolce & Gabbana and Vivanco, while highlighting the superior design and workmanship of the designers’ garments. (André Ziehe, Milan, June 2009) The book features many of the world’s top male models, including Noah Mills, Jesper and Sebastian Lund, Miguel Iglesias, Adam Senn, with a chapter dedicated to Tony Ward, perhaps the most well known male model to date. Also included is a revealing interview Esquire’s Nick Sullivan.
