The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) will hold the first GLAAD Media Awards in Advertising, presented by Ogilvy and Southwest, to honor outstanding images of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in print, broadcast and electronic ad campaigns.
 
Host Alan Cumming will present nominated ads from companies including Ortbiz, Bertolli, Allstate, Coors, Levi’s and ABSOLUT.

The evening begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by the inaugural Advertising Awards show with presenters including Jay Manuel (America’s Next Top Model) and Lisa Sherman (General Manager, LOGO).

OUTAuction NYC 2009

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) will hold the 8th annual OUTAuction NYC, presented by Bud Light, to celebrate new and established artists. The annual fundraising event – part art auction and part glamorous cocktail reception – will include an Out in Art Award presented to Ross Bleckner along with In/Out: An Exhibition and Auction of GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists of 2009.

This year’s live auction includes work from Joan Miro, Wassily Kandinsky and Herb Ritts. The OUTAuction NYC Honorary Host Committee includes Edward Albee, Crystal McCrary Anthony, Jack Mackenroth, John Waters, Veronica Webb and Vanessa Williams.
