When The Secret Bar is No Longer a Secret
This past Week, Eater NY exposed 10 "secret" hard-to-find bars and lounges.
Secret Lounge at 525 W 29th St
(between 10th Ave & 11th Ave) was mentioned.
This gay bar attracts big crowds late at night on the weekends, but the rest of the week, it keeps a very, very low profile. The space is located at the end of a long hallway accessible via an unmarked door on a nondescript block of West Chelsea, in the shadow of The High Line. The space features plush red banquettes, vintage chandeliers, and a square bar in the center of the room.
With a name like Secret Lounge -How can it be a Secret?
Since when has Secret been a secret? That place has been around for years. I was actually surprised to hear that it was still open.
