Vinoly's $1 Billion Skyscraper 432 Park Avenue

WOULD YOU LIVE IN THE
TALLEST BUILDING IN MANHATTAN?

Count me out!

The Wall Street Journal reports that architectural plans reveal a "1,300-foot tall, (Trade Center was  1360)slender condo and retail complex" with 128 condos that feature 12-foot high ceilings, plus a "5,000 square foot, partially covered, driveway to ensure privacy and amenities like golf training facilities and private dining and screening rooms."

50 East 57th Street   (The Drake Hotel) will now be   432 Park Avenue.   Built in 1926, The Drake was acquired in the early 1980s by the Swissotel company of Zurich, which undertook a $52 million room-by-room renovation of the building.

Renovations were completed in 1991. In 2006 the hotel was sold for $440 million to developer Harry Macklowe. It was demolished in 2007. The site became one of New York's most valuable development sites in 2011.
