South Gate Restaurant Launches iPad Wine Tablets

With its prestigious address on the fashionable Central Park South, the highly acclaimed South Gate (154 Central Park South between 6th and 7th Avenues, NYC, 212.484.4715) continues to revolutionize the dining experience as the first New York City restaurant to leverage the groundbreaking new capabilities of the iPad.  The highly acclaimed restaurant is the first New York City restaurant to launch custom designed iPad wine tablets.

South Gate has created custom wireless iPad wine tablets exclusively designed to navigate its extensive wine list. The new iPad wine tablet features the SmartCellar application designed by the New York-based company Incentient.

The device was exclusively created to navigate South Gate’s extensive wine list of over 650 bottles. The new iPad wine tablet is an interactive high-definition, color touch-screen, handheld device that not only provides customers with detailed information about the major wine regions and varietals, but also automatically updates the wine list as labels sell out, to ensure that inventory is always accurate.  The touch-screen application is easy enough for a casual diner but detailed enough for the most knowledgeable wine connoisseur.

Jumeirah Essex House is a place to “see and be seen” while enjoying the celebrated cuisine at the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, South Gate. Designed by top New York City designer, Tony Chi, South Gate opened to rave reviews in 2008 and stands as one of the city’s “must try” dining destinations.
