Gender equality is what some of us is pursuing to happen. Advocates for gay rights or LGBT causes are calling for Day of Silence 2010, where on April 16th people advocating for the civil rights of others will not speak - barring certain exceptions, of course - to show their support for their gay, lesbian, or transgendered compatriots and the mistreatment and marginalization they've suffered at the hands of legislators and others. Clearly, there are exceptions - students for example, or if you're in line at McDonalds or getting payday loans, or whatever - but it does seem like the least various people can do.
