Gay Spiritual Retreat - Just One Hour From New York City...May 2009

Brothers and Sisters

Goshen, New York

May 14, 2009 to May 17, 2009

This amazing workshop is a unique opportunity for us to gather as a community of gay men and lesbians to explore, and re-discover, our roles in the larger cosmic family. To do so, we will explore our connection with one another and ourselves. We will learn together, practice together, and affirm one another, as only gay and lesbian brothers and sisters can. We will use drumming circles, chanting, heart circles, breathwork, journaling, dancing and ceremony to deepen our understanding of how we are related and connected.  We will re-align our hearts and come into a rhythmic peace as gay men and lesbians.

During the weekend, we will work toward aligning the energies that connect us to each other. We will see, feel and hear each other and open to the parts of ourselves that we both accept and reject. That which we reject in each other, we reject within ourselves. Through healing touch, sound, and guided visualizations we will embrace our rejected feminine and masculine sides and come closer to being whole.

The goal of this workshop is to deepen the understanding within our own community.
This is our chance to connect, reunite, and celebrate!

The daily schedule will incorporate a balance of group sessions and leisure time. The group sessions are designed to help us step back from daily routines and provide the means to examine ourselves. No previous experience is necessary for any of the activities planned. Instruction, guidance and support by qualified facilitators is provided throughout the retreat.

The weekend includes:
Deep Chakra Meditation
Drumming/Rhythmic Circles
Toning
Earth Mandalas
Fire Ceremony
Journal Work
Sacred Play, Dance, & Movement

The workshop is being held at the Empowerment Center
in Goshen, New York (60 miles northwest of New York City). The Empowerment Center is a beautifully renovated early 20th century schoolhouse and rests on 150 acres of rolling hills. It is sponsored by the Highbridge Community Life Center, an organization dedicated to
empowering individuals to improve their own lifes.
The Empowerment Center can easily be reached by car or bus.
