New York's Naked Cowboy Suing Candy Maker Mars

The famous Times Square Naked Cowboy is suing Mars, Inc. for using his trademark tighty-whities and guitar on a dancing M&M, and he says  that the company offered him $50,000 to shut up. But he sure as hell does not  plan to.

He claims Mars Inc. used his trademark look - white briefs, cowboy boots, a hat and not much else - to dress a blue M&M candy on a Times Square billboard - and he was compensated in any way.

Robert Burck aka Naked Cowboy -- wants around $6 million from Mars, according to papers filed in Federal Court in New York.  He has trademarked his signature look and has made several television and movie appearances in costume, including for a televised audition on American Idol.

For nearly a decade, Robert Burck has been a fixture in Times Square, where he strums a guitar on a street corner while dressed in his minimal costume.  - And he intends to wear his minimalist getup in open court -- and says he wants his lawyer to do the same, just for solidarity!
